At Nature’s Diet Pet, every product we create starts with a simple philosophy: pet wellness should never be an afterthought. When we set out to develop our new Nature’s Diet Pet Ear Wipes, we weren’t just looking to make another grooming product—we wanted to solve a real problem many pet parents face.
One of the biggest challenges? Finding an ear-cleaning wipe without eucalyptus.
Many popular ear-wipe brands list eucalyptus oil as a feature, promoting its scent or perceived cleansing benefits. But eucalyptus simply isn’t an ingredient we feel comfortable using on dogs—and for good reason.

Why We Chose a Eucalyptus-Free Formula
Eucalyptus may be natural, but that doesn’t always mean it’s safe for pets. Dogs are uniquely sensitive to certain plant compounds, and eucalyptus is one of them. The primary concern is a compound called eucalyptol, which dogs cannot process well. While reactions vary depending on the amount and form of exposure, veterinarians generally recommend avoiding eucalyptus-containing products for routine canine care.
Here’s what pet parents should know—without the scare factor:
How eucalyptus can affect dogs
Eucalyptol is difficult for dogs to metabolize. Their bodies lack the enzymes to break it down efficiently. It can irritate the digestive system if ingested (even in small amounts from grooming products). In more significant exposures, it may affect the nervous system or liver. Inhalation can also be irritating, especially in small or poorly ventilated spaces, because a dog’s sense of smell is far more sensitive than ours.
This doesn’t mean every exposure leads to serious illness—but it does mean we prefer to err on the side of caution.
Protecting Your Dog from Unnecessary Exposure
Eucalyptus is common in household products—cleaners, diffusers, sprays, and even some pet items. A few simple habits can help keep your dog safe:
Store eucalyptus-containing products out of reach
Avoid using eucalyptus oil in diffusers
Never apply eucalyptus oil directly to your dog’s skin or fur
Call your veterinarian right away if your dog ingests or is exposed to concentrated eucalyptus products
A Better Option for Routine Ear Care
Because it was so hard to find ear wipes that didn’t contain eucalyptus, we created our own. Our new Nature’s Diet Pet Ear Wipes are Eucalyptus-free, gentle on sensitive skin, formulated with safe, soothing ingredients, and designed for everyday use. We wanted pet parents to have a product they could feel good about using regularly—without worrying about unnecessary additives.
Thoughtful Care, From Our Pack to Yours
Your dog’s health, comfort, and safety will always guide our choices. By removing eucalyptus from our formula, we hope to make daily grooming a little safer and a lot more comforting for the pets you love.
Thank you for trusting Nature’s Diet Pet. We can’t wait for you and your pup to try our newest product.
